This Is The First-Ever Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Crown—See How It Looks On Rabiya Mateo!
It’s a match made in crown heaven!
Named “Filipina,” this jaw-dropping crown is the very first Miss Universe Philippines crown. It was an incredible honor for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 winner Rabiya Mateo of Iloilo City to be the very first to wear bearer of this year’s most esteemed piece. With her million dollar smile and queenly stance, the crown looked immaculate on Rubiya—the look of a true Filipina.
The stunning crown was made by the Villarica Family of Bulacan—one of the top jewelers in our country. Like this crown, the jewelers are proud to have been pushing for women empowerment through their all-female staff. Every trinket and gem on the crown signify what it means to be a a Filipina today:
1. The topaz, sapphire, and ruby gems mirror the Philippine flag seamlessly
2. The swirling leaves represent every woman who “seeks success in different forms yet still keeps the Filipino values in their hearts”
3. The diamonds represent the sparkle in the lives of the Filipino people
The symbolisms greatly add up to what a modern Filipina is like. “These gems are emblems of dreams, ambition, happiness, pride, self-worth, and empowerment,” Miss Universe posts on their social media account.
The coronation today marks the first-ever Miss Universe Philippines after the license of previous organization Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) wasn’t renewed by the Miss Universe Organisation. Now on its 57th year, 55 years of which under BPCI’s management, it is indeed a new age for the pageant and the Filipina.
