Olivia Culpo and Miss U 2019 Zozibini Tunzi are also this night’s stunners
It’s the night pageant fans and Filipinos have all been waiting for. The recently concluded Miss Universe 2020 coronation night announced Miss Mexico Andrea Meza as this year’s Miss Universe. Philippines’ contender Rabiya Mateo didn’t disappoint when it comes to stage-worthy looks that night. Our bet made it to the esteemed Top 21, walking onstage with such electrifying presence.
Rabiya wasn’t the only show-stopper that night. Host and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo wore back-to-back statement looks that are definitely some of the best of the night. Miss Universe 2019 from South Africa Zozibini Tunzi also had a lot of screen time doling out inspiring messages while also showing her journey as the titleholder the past year.
It is truly one of the most beautiful nights of the universe and all the 74 contenders and ladies showed that women are definitely more empowered, driven, and dazzling.
“Failure is not the opposite of success,” Rabiya shares in one of her interviews. “It is a part of success. “Learn to celebrate your own identity and show that to the universe.”
See below for all of Rabiya’s looks in the Miss Universe finals as well as our favorites from Olivia and Zozibini.
Announced as part of the Top 21 finalists, Rabiya wore this blue flapper-inspired look and was beaming with that winning smile.
“Education is our social equalizer,” Rabiya says on the interview, citing education as her advocacy. “Regardless of what background you have, [the] status of your family, if you educate yourself, you’ll be able to land a great job.”
Yellow might just be Rabiya’s color of the year! This yellow swimwear was immaculate on her. Filipino shoe designer Jojo Bragais provided the official shoes for the show. This might have added to Rabiya’s added spring in her step!
Oliva Culpo’s Looks
One of the true stunners of the night was former Miss Universe - USA Olivia Culpo. Her three looks are truly deserving of her hosting duties that night. A particular fave was her black one-sided ruffled look that are equal parts statement and refinement.
Zozibini Tunzi’s Looks
The true star of the coronation night was Miss Universe 2019 - South Africa Zozibini Tunzi. You can tell from her journey that it was good run, handling her reign with such power and grace. The night showed that she was a true queen.
“Ambition is not a dirty word,” she shares in one of her on-screen interviews. She encourages women to step up and to take their space they rightly deserve.
She did her final walk in one of the most memorable looks ever. Her final walk look is a mixture of tradition and modernity, symbolic of where she came from, South Africa. With a black and white turban and stunning prints.
