Here Are The Biggest C-Drama Stars At The 2021 ‘Harper's Bazaar’ Icons Party
See the likes of Yang Zi, Zhao Liying, Angelababy, Li Xian, and Jackson Wang steal the show in their high fashion looks
The Harper’s Bazaar Icons party in NYC, is an annual event that is part of the campaign that supports the Carine Roitfeld curated issues showcasing ground-breaking cover stars through the years like Christy Turlington, Regina King, Awkwafina, Shailene Woodley, Lakeith Stanfield, Céline Dion, Kate Moss, Alek Wek, Devon Aoki, Alicia Keys and more.
On March 30, 2021 some of the biggest and most influential C-Drama stars descended in Shanghai for Harper’s Bazaar China’s tribute to the trendsetters and icons of fashion in China. Three of our favorite C-Drama stars were awarded the Popular Icon Award. Actress Zhao Liying, known for her great talent and ageless beauty, looked stunning, delicate and ethereal in a dreamy gauzy gown with touches of gold by Chinese haute couture designer Guo Pei. The brand ambassador of Dior and Nars cosmetics, who recently launched her post pregnancy come back series Legend of Fei (now enjoying over 5.3 billion views on the Tencent WeTV platform), usually attends events wearing the latest collections from top European designers. This time she chose to go with local brands for her gown and jewelry.
The very popular and pretty actress and singer Yang Zi, known for her acting abilities and great sense of humor is the brand ambassador of luxury brands like Givenchy and Coach. True to form, Yang Zi who looked amazing in a Georges Chakra gown from the designer’s 2020 couture Spring collection, has been rocking the off the shoulder silhouette for her last two major appearances in 2021. The black Doc Marten’s boots added an edgy touch and much needed stability and comfort, especially with going up and down the stairs of the stage. It has been a very busy year for Yang Zi who is preparing for the launch of two major dramas in 2021-namely Oath of Love with one of the hottest male stars in China, Zhao Xian, and The Golden Hairpin with global Chinese Canadian superstar Kris Wu.
Last but not the least is handsome actor Li Xian who was the only male celebrity to receive the same award. Li Xian who has starred in many films and dramas is probably best known for his role as Han Shangyan–Yang Zi’s love interest in the big 2019 hit drama Go Go Squid. Li Xian who is the brand ambassador for Aqua di Parma and Estee Lauder attended the Harper’s Bazaar event wearing Chanel which is a current favorite among Chinese male celebrities since 2019.
