See What Your Fave Filipino Fashionistas Wore On Christmas Day!

As we move on from the special holiday we pretty much waited for since September, here’s our style icons on Christmas Day in probably the last of this year’s holiday-themed ensembles.

From rich terracottas, burgundies, to cherry reds, it’s safe to say that red is the color of the season and there’s no moving on from that. If you think about it, red has been frequently worn for Valentines Day or by celebrants on their birthdays but we’ve never worn so much red until the Christmas season. This year, our style icons came through with their own representations of the holiday spirit in red. Although this might be the last Christmas-themed OOTDs we’ll be seeing this year, do know that these outfits might become handy on certain days you want to style up in red. We recognised three existing trends our style icons have been delivering, scroll down to know what they got under their sleeves!

To Die For Prints

Heart Evangelista and Olivia Lopez’s wardrobe proves to be the most coveted. The two have always came through with out-of-this-world silhouettes and have always championed print-on-prints. Here’s what they came up with on Christmas Day.

Art On Heart

The fact that Heart gets to wear her own artworks says a lot about how much this formidable woman has achieved. Heart woke up on Christmas Day with one goal in mind and that’s to pair a black lace blouse with red detailing and her Kamiseta mid-skirt that features her own painting. Need we say less? This outfit works and we love the risk-taking!

Mademoiselle Olivia

Author and Curator, Olivia Lopez parties in Paris for Christmas. The multi-hyphenate champions a corset dress that extends down to her ankles. It features a deep red base and a floral outer lining. She effortlessly throws on a trench coat that blends like second skin.

For Christmas Day, Olivia sneaks in a mirror selfie at the Ritz in a red-on-red ensemble that ties up on her neck. Talk about power-dressing in Paris!

Bold Trenches

This trend is based from structures that continuously shape our outfits and double up as an easy must-have to battle the cold weather. Laureen and her red-on-red ensemble is something to read up about for sure. Far from the colours red, Elisse and Maymay still fits the category with their chic take on trench coats.

Suited Up!

Brave enough to go red-on-red? Take it from Laureen and how she aces such a difficult combo. The boldness of the color red can be sometimes distracting or simply just too much but the style princess proves otherwise. Laureen stands out In a red suit paired with white chunky boots. It doesn’t get any more festive than this.

Blushing In Neutral

Elisse looks like a breathe of fresh air in a crisp grey trench coat paired with a white turtleneck. The young yet influential actress simply ties the look together and puts her hair in a sleek low bun. PRO TIP: When throwing on a bulky outfit for the weather, tie your hair up to define and show structure on the face, this balances out the look and does favours to your face.

Heart On One’s Sleeves

Puffy sleeves is the mood and it’s here to stay. Structured yet still ultra femme, the puffy sleeves flatter all body types and gives the right boost on a person’s stance. See why Vania and Mikaela opted for this silhouette on their Christmas Day family photos.

Queen Of Hearts

Bridal and RTW designer, Vania Romoff flutters our hearts in this beaming red dress. Looking blooming in Bordeaux red, Vania poses with husband Steven and daughter Emilia for a traditional Christmas family photo. The construction of the dress resembles a Filipiniana butterfly sleeves yet it looks entirely modern and very Vania Romoff.

Femme Holiday

Fashionista and mom of three, Mikaela Lagdameo Martinez takes a puff sleeved play suit for a stroll with her family. Mikaela kept it festive on Christmas Day and managed to fully coordinated her family’s outfit. She pairs her puff sleeved play suit dress with a nude pointy toe flats. PRO TIP: Extend your legs and add an illusion of extra height with nude heels or flats. Real fashionistas and Metro.Style readers would know that Heart Evangelista would approve to this tip.
