A Bold Nod: A Look At Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2019 Collection
Fresh from his much buzzed about contract renewal as Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Women’s Collections, Nicolas Ghesquière presented his fifth collection for the brand’s Cruise 2019 show held at the picturesque town of Saint-Paul de Vence on the French Riviera. Despite the gloomy weather and warnings of a possible storm, the brand made a bold decision to push through with an outdoor set-up in an art museum even after the unexpected rainfall at the Dior show held in the stables of Chantilly.
Inspired in part by Aimé Maeght’s peculiar style, Ghesquière gave a rightful nod to unconventional ways of dressing. Matching an oversized structured blazer with a slip dress or cowboy hats with shiny silk, it was the perfect mixture of masculine style and feminine silhouettes.
You can expect nothing less as an array of multinational celebrities and fashion personalities were seated on the front row. Emma Stone and Jennifer Connelly were seated next to Léa Seydoux and K-pop superstar Sehun. Ruth Negga, Justin Theroux, Sophie Turner, and Sienna Miller were also spotted in the audience. Our very own Kim Jones was also in attendance.
