Here’s What Happened At This First-Ever Couture Mask Show

Hear from the stories of women who inspired the brand's latest collection.

Local fashion label Amen has been in the fashion industry for three years now and they never once failed to impress us with their one of a kind couture pieces. Apart from Amens's designs, we also deeply respect how the brand supports women and the artisans behind the often sold out couture masks. For the first time ever, the brand staged a phygital mask couture show and we couldn't let it pass. Struck by the inspiring stories of 20 women, Kyna Sy of Amen designed and produced a couture show in front of an audience decked in their own versions of couture.

Moderated by Mica Pineda, the couture show brought together the women of the hour, Joyce Pring, a DJ and VJ, Joy Mendoza, a sexual abuse counselor, and Janeena Chan, a TV host and content creator. The three women shared how they reached Point A to Point B through their faith in God, in themselves, and the support they have received through their community.

Apart from the esteemed panel above, Amen also invited the likes of Miriam Quiambao, Verniece Enciso, Camille Prats, Jessica Yang, Patricia Henson, and Janina Vela to share their most empowering moments in Amen's couture face masks.

Divided in three segments, the couture show featured masks inspired by Coco Chanel, Marie Curie, Frida Kahlo, Winnie Harlow, and Malala Yousafzai. It’s amazing to see a brand that does not only take inspiration from fashion icons but legendary women in art, science, and activism as well. Amen doesn't stop there, the brand also recently partnered with The Women's Forum, a non-profit and Christ-centered organization that highlights women's voices and perspectives on pressing global issues.

Did we mention that Amen will soon be releasing blazers in 2022? Yes, you can now build your wardrobe with blazers to match or complement your Amen masks. While we wait for Amen's upcoming release, you might want to check out their new couture masks on Instagram or Zalora.
