Bellisima! The Most Stunning Looks From Dolce & Gabbana’s “Alta Moda” Show In New York City
In case you missed it over the weekend, the grandest fashion party of spring just held its stunning conclusion at the grand halls of The Metropolitan Opera, New York City: Dolce & Gabbana’s 3-day couture extravaganza, known as the Alta Moda, hosted a weekend of stardom, opulence and plenty of envious looks. Traditionally hosted in Italian destinations, like Milan, Sicily and Naples, this is the first time the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda shows was held in North America, much to the glee of all the fashionistas in that side of the world.
In an interview with Vogue, Stefano Gabbana recounts how the decision to host the couture event in New York came about with just an invitation to The Metropolitan Opera, one of their favorite theatres. Domenica Dolce proclaims, “To us, New York is the city where dreams come true.”
Known for its over-the-top extravagance, Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda couture shows are some of the hottest invites anyone could wish for. The first night, held at the New York Public Librabry, is the jewelry couture show titled “Alta Gioielleria”; the second night held at the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center consists of menswear for the “Alta Sartoria” show; and finally, the womenswear couture collection at The Metropolitan Opera.
