Trendy Chic : A Review Of Ralph & Russo Autumn/Winter 2018 In Paris Fashion Week
Epitomising effortless elegance, the Ralph & Russo Autumn/Winter 2018 ready-to-wear collection pays homage to the modern, jetset woman who always looks so well put together no matter where they go. Comprised of thirty-five looks, the second ready-to-wear collection from the duo, explores leather separates, multi-use biker jackets, and off-the-shoulder gowns; in addition to asymmetric knits and open fronted cascading bouquet skirts, which feature as key silhouettes.
This season’s presentation veered away from the runway and was, instead, held in their chic Paris showroom where they receive their clients. A colour palette inspired by minerals: shimmering ice-pastels, flashes of mirrored gold, and traces of hyper-glossed jet black, made for a striking collection, given the more somber winter tones. Contrasting textures can also be found throughout the collection, as feminine smoky pink cashmere turtlenecks were paired with oversized hound’s-tooth outerwear. A silk tuxedo and crunchy, metallic leather skirt gives off a trendy cosmopolitan vibe. Bespoke debossed buttons highlight the house codes of traditionalism and creativity, offset by rubberized leather details heeding to adventure.
