The Many Magical Looks Of Couture Fashion Week Fall ’22
These top shows were absolute beauty!
There is something ethereal about Couture Week shows in Paris and Italy the past weeks. The cities lays quiet, and in the hushed rooms of these shows, a symphony abounds and the magic is made. This season, the shows turned glamour into a thing of beauty. And the looks? Breathtaking and otherworldly.
For your viewing pleasure, we’ve rounded up the best shows of Fall Couture 2022 and you can watch them all right here.
Valentino
Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli is truly home in couture week. His spell-binding shows created further magic when he just staged the most recent one right at the historic Spanish Steps in Rome, a stone’s throw away from the fashion house’s headquarters. Not only were the looks stunning but it is one of the most diverse couture shows yet—adding menswear and plus size models. Truly, there is home for everyone in a Valentino show.

Fendi
Fendi Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear Kim Jones merged three historically and sartorially rich cities to create a collection that entirely feels brand new. Kyoto was his jump off point wherein he introduced the Kata Yuzen, a painstaking hand printing and painting technique seen on the floor-length dresses. A sense of French ‘Japonisme’ and art deco ornament in the flou, is joined by a more Italian take on the tailleur in the Vicuna, leather and fur work. Together, Kyoto, Paris, and Rome founders home in Fendi’s couture show.

Schiaparelli
The word “surreal” takes human form at the Schiaparelli show. It wasn’t about a grand staging—Daniel Roseberry let the clothes walk and speak for themselves, in arguably one of his best shows yet. He took inspiration from Elsa Schiaparelli, herself, and those in conversation with her through her life. And picking up pieces from his personal story and interests, some floral displays inspired by the book A Passion for Flowers (a book seen at Daniel’s grandmother’s house) were brought to life. You can’t speak of couture without having seen a Schiaparelli show!

Balenciaga
Couture and futurism are two words you don’t often see associated with each other but they find home at the second Balenciaga show under Demna Gvasalia’s tenure. The show started with all-black ensembles with models in cyborg-like masks that stayed almost throughout the show. HIs signature streetwear couture remained pairing denim pants and hoodies with the flicker of couture—and they always work! Friends of Balenciaga Nicole Kidman, Dua Lipa, Naomi Campbell, and Kim Kardashian were also models on the runway that added star value to an already stellar show.
