The Dior S/S ’22 Show Introduced A Brand New Dior Like You’ve Never Seen It Before

See Dior in its boldest collection to date.

Dior Women’s Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri has been so successful in referencing archival and iconic Dior references during her tenure in the French fashion house. Today, she chose to shake things up and open the brand to new shapes, new colors, new life—yes, a brand new Dior!

The ‘60s-inspired collection still referenced Marc Bohan’s time at the helm: the Slim Look. Just as recognizable as Monsieur Dior’s The New Look, the Slim Look was reimagined into color blocking pieces in bold hues and geometric artwork by Italia artist Anna Paparatti sprinkled were sprinkled throughout the collection.

The scenography matched the collection with rotating disco lights and multi-coloured stage where models circumnavigate like clockwork. It’s definitely a new aesthetic even by Chiuri’s standards. It’s a more laidback and approachable experiment on how to take Dior to a post-pandemic fashion of accessibility and ease of wear.

Highlights of the collection include the A-line dresses, boxer-inspired matching shorts and top, and geometric patterns and print on highly vibrant colors.
