Everyone Needs A Little Haute Couture In Their Life

… Even if it’s just to watch!

In case you missed it, the Paris Haute Couture week just wrapped up, and we’re still high from the fantasy. Yes, by “fantasy” we really do mean that these looks are otherworldly, getting your imagination on the run is a flash of color, flare and movement.

As the very first fashion week on the calendar (whilst we’re still recovering from the holiday lull), Haute Couture week has its way of jolting the fashion community back from dormancy; and in a way, we use view it as a makeshift forecast into the year as far as fashion goes. And wow, did this Haute Couture week get us excited for 2019!

Long skirts and gowns (although not necessarily voluminous), bows, capes, deeply rich colors and a whole lot of sass paraded the runway; there’s definitely a dream-like quality to the haute couture this season. It is a breath of fresh air in some way. While we’re not necessarily sad about the dominance of street style and pop-culture apparel in 2018, a dose of unapologetic flounce serves a reminder that fashion always has an occupation in fantasy—not just day-to-day grit.
