Fendace! Fendi x Versace Is That Collab You Shouldn’t Miss

This more-is-more dressing is just what we need to lift us now.

When two fashion houses merge to give us a collection of a lifetime, we are sure get a powerhouse collaboration. Monumental Italian brands Fendi and Versace join forces in a capsule that’s meant to lift spirits and bring out the fun in glamour dressing. Here comes Fendace and it’s more-is-more aesthetic makes it a fun one.

In a nightclub-themed campaign, we see supermodels Adut Akech, Amar Akway, Anja Rubik, Anok Yai, Imaan Hammam, and Lina Zang—entering the Fendace nightclub in over-the-top high-octane Fendace outfits—with Naomi Campbell and Kristen McMenamy as the bouncers.

We get a peek of the collection which are monogram-filled pieces from both houses. It’s an exchange of roles rather than a collaboration with designers Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi bringing their perspective to Versace, and Donatella Versace recasting Fendi through her vision. These directors celebrate their friendship through this collection and we can see how they just work.

The looks and pieces truly get the best of both brands. The boldness and loudness of Versace meet with streamlined codes of Fendi. Styles like the Fendace Peekaboo and Baguette—that combines the iconic Fendi bags silhouettes with Versace’s codes—and the Fendace La Medusa handbag—where the Fendi FF logo meets Versace’s Medusa—are a clear statement of the collection’s intent to create unique designs with respect for each fashion house at the core.
