#Metrowear2017 Makes an Unforgettable Fashion Event
On Wednesday (October 25), Metro Magazine presented this year's Metrowear show with collections from three designers that embody talent and innovation in local fashion today.
Young yet among the most sought-after designers today, Patty Ang, Michael Leyva, and Mark Bumgarner unveiled their exquisite womenswear collections, each exclusively prepared for Metro and its readers.
Industry leaders, designer friends, and stylish guests gathered at the Grand Ballroom of City of Dreams Manila, while more fashion followers were able to partake online via Metrowear's very first livestream on Metro's Youtube channel.
Given the rising popularity of the designers and the close-kept secrets surrounding these collections, the show’s anticipation was palpably high. Nevertheless, all three designers certainly delivered and put on a show to remember.
Each collection not only demonstrates the unwavering commitment to the craftsmanship of each garment, but also distinguishes each designer's individual artistry.
Patty Ang, truly proving to be "a woman who designs for women," presented a stunning soft-hued collection that appeals to a universal range of females. From the crisp and modern tailoring to the sheer fabrics adorned with feathers or crystals, the designs are equal parts sophisticated, whimsical, and undoubtedly sexy.
Michael Leyva's grandiose designs marked by meticulous detail made up a collection that featured a stunning mix of beadwork, embroidery, and tulle. Every look seemed to have a touch of magic, whether it is one of his elaborate creations in bold hues of red, green, or blue, or one of his more delicate nude pieces with colorful appliqués.
Mark Bumgarner's collection, perfectly set against a dark backdrop depicting x-ray images of flowers, exemplified the classic elegance and sophistication associated with the colors black and white. His monochromatic creations mimicked the soft texture of flowers, but also possessed the grit and power of strong tailoring. Every look was a romantic statement.
