Straight from Paris and Milan, Mond shares his Fashion Week diary to Metro

Men’s Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024 was a standout this season. From Milan then straight to Paris, Raymond Gutierrez was able to see it all. In this Metro exclusive, Mond shares his notes and insights from all the show he’s watched.

MILAN

It was my first time to do fashion week in Milan and it was such a great experience watching two Italian heritage brands show their collections—Prada and Zegna.

Prada’s over-the-top set design really took my breath away. And after the show, I even got to meet Mrs Prada and Raf Simons, the creative duo behind brand. It was definitely a highlight.

At Zegna, the clothes and the fabric choices took centerstage. Cashmere fell from the sky and enveloped the middle of the runway: a strong testament to the brand’s commitment to the fabric and the sustainability efforts they’re creating to develop the material.

I also watched the Jordan Luca show, one the most progressive brands coming out of Milan. The show mixed Italian heritage with modern streetwear, which I thought was really cool.

PARIS

In Paris, I watched the Louis Vuitton show by Pharrell Williams, which was a stunning display of showmanship and the art of collaboration. Pharrell collaborated with Native American tribes and its artisans to create special pieces for the Western-themed show. I loved the attention to detail and craftsmanship that went into the collection. Not to mention Pharrell knows how to throw a good party—and even sang for the crowd at the after party together with a surprise performance from Mumford and Sons.

At Givenchy, it was a collection created by the design team and I loved that it was inspired by Hubert De Givenchy’s personal wardrobe. His love for layering and texture were present and I thought the accessories were really strong too. Givenchy’s Voyou bag was reimagined in shearling and cowhide, which caught my attention right away.

And one of my favorite shows this season was definitely Loewe. The brand understands its customers and who it’s speaking to. The collection was fresh and had many must-haves for the season including oversized leather satchels and sneakers which came in many colorways.
