From 2 April 2020, Raf Simons will join the Prada brand as co-creative director, working in partnership with Miuccia Prada with equal responsibilities for creative input and decision-making. The first Prada collection designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons will be the Spring/Summer 2021 womenswear show, presented in Milan in September 2020. Discover more via link in bio. Raf Simons is remarkably known for his tenure at his namesake menswear line, former success in Calvin Klein, Dior, and Jill Sander. He is known to shapeshift fashion in his pure unconventional designs, avant-garde silhouettes, and reinventions. But do not fret, Raf will still keep close attention and design for his brand while juggling responsibilities at Prada.
Both designers will have equal responsibilities on creative input and decision-making effective as of April 2, 2020. This means that the Fall/Winter 2020 show is the last collection to be created solely by Miuccia Prada. Rumour has it that Raf will eventually take over the Italian luxury powerhouse once Miuccia retires. Fingers crossed that we will be seeing more from this colossal duo either way. The Spring/Summer 2021 womenswear collection will be the first show we will see from Miuccia and Raf. We cannot promise that we will keep our chill until September 2020, there’s so much in-store for the new Prada!
