But how does a woman wear this statement piece without looking like a teeny-bopper? For your dose of style inspiration, keep scrolling!
Metro.Style: The '90s bead bag is back on trend—is this a yay or a nay for you?
Joanna Garcia: It’s a big yay for me! Trends really come and go, and the bead bag is here to stay this 2019. I’ve been seeing mini purses all over the runway, and bead bags are a cute and accessible way to wear this trend. They're cute and sassy at the same time!
MS: How can more mature women wear this trend without looking 'too young'?
JG: Mature women can wear this trend by incorporating the bead bag as the outfit's statement piece. For example, one can wear muted, tailored trousers with a chic top, or even a classic LBD, and make the beaded bag [stand out]. The key is balance. If you incorporate too many trends into your outfit, it might look a bit funny.
MS: How can Metro women wear this trend on errands day?
JG: Pick casual and classic pieces like a pair of black shorts, a white button down, and some mules or “lola heels”, which are also on trend now. Pop in your beaded bag, and you’re good to go!
MS: How would you wear this on date night?
JG: Put on a classic white dress or a trusty LBD, pair it with some chic pumps, and add on a beaded bag! The key to always looking chic is by sticking to the basics, and then adding trendy pieces here and there.
MS: If a woman is to invest in a bead bag, which color do you recommend she gets first?
JG: It really depends on your wardrobe. If you have a lot of black, white, and earthy pieces, you can invest in a more colorful option for a beaded bag, so it will be the pop of color to your outfits. A pearl or crystal color is also a no-fail option—it always works!
