Louis Vuitton Creates Another Super Cool Collection For Men's Pre-Spring ’23
Hint: It’s all about music and the different genres of style
The Louis Vuitton Pre-Spring 2023 Men’s Collection offers another stellar selection of youthful and cool pieces that are anchored on a theme of music. This coming season, meet the different genres of style in the collection where the pieces parallel the journey of our musical youth. Yes, the pieces mimic the concert-goers and the once music student in us.
Before his passing in November of last year, the late Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director conceived the idea for the collection already but was materialized by his team and collaborators in Louis Vuitton. The season is still aligned with his central theme of coming of age. Case in point were the upgraded band T-shirts, cargo trousers, distressed denim to the luxe leather jackets. The vibe mimic sort of a fan culture merch echoed in the graphics and the pieces.
Another part of the collection celebrates the music student, just about to experience the new world ahead of him. A fitted suit is worn with a football scarf, a Damier-patterned relaxed suit is styled with a monogram leather puffer jacket, and a taupe workwear suit is casualised with a hoodie.
As for the accessories, LV Graffiti is a line of bags inspired by the graffiti tribute wall created in Virgil Abloh’s memory outside his Rue du Pont Neuf studio in December 2021. Drawing on the raw and colourful grammar of street art, canvas bags including an Archy Messenger, a Trio Messenger, a Keepall, a Keepall 25, and a Streamer WW are adorned in multi-colour Monogram evoking the drips of spray paint, available in two colourway options. In the words of Virgil Abloh: “My graffiti is on the inside of the building.”
