#MetroStyleWatch: What's The Cool Set Wearing Now?
We've finally come to the mid-year, and that only means a brand new set of inspiration for our closets! We don't necessarily have to go out and buy new stuff to fill our closets with, but this time it's more of updating our styling skills with existing pieces we may already have! For this edition of #MetroStyleWatch, we're taking a look at both the local and foreign cool sets for fashion advice for the weeks and months to come. The heat is finally on its way out (fingers crossed), and the rainy season is set to make its presence felt. Here's what to wear now, and how:
The younger miss Hadid shows us a lesson in dressing up your wide-leg jeans: Pair with an unassuming button-down shirt and a hot pair of shades!
Chunky footwear is on point this season, with Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, and sneaker brands like Fila coming out with new designs for the stylish set. Here, Jess shows us how it's done—part chic, part perfect for the rainy weather!
Bride-to-be Martine welcomes the rainy weather in an all-leather ensemble and basic gray hoodie combo—a look we can definitely steal for the chilly days ahead.
Former Pretty Little Liars star slash Youtuber Shay Mitchell gives a lesson in balance: You can don a casual crop top and still look classy if you pair it with the appropriate trousers and jacket. Tres chic!
It model of the moment Kaia Gerber shows us how to do casual cool in pieces you already have: An oversize men's button-down shirt, bloomers, sheer black tights, and basic black pumps. Sure works!
If you've got mile-long legs like Joey, donning a pair of knee-high boots is the way to go in wet weather such as this. Take advantage of it, before the sun decides to come out again!
Anne Curtis Smith-Heussaff
Wide leg trousers are clearly having a moment—as seen in this outfit worn by THE Anne Curtis herself. You can choose to wear it for dressy occasions such as an evening party, or for more casual events like a lunch out with the girls.
Matchy-matchy is the name of the game. Take cue from top fashion blogger Camille Co in this peach blazer and cropped pants + chunky sneakers number, basically our dream uniform for busy days.
Fashion influencer Julie of Sincerely Jules is the only sign we need that camo jackets are back and can be considered a new closet staple. This print is practically complementary for plain tops as well as prints like stripes and gingham, so copping one is indeed a good idea!
Metro Channel Host Tricia Centenera looks equal parts cozy and chic, thanks to this pajama ensemble that can definitely be dressed up with some jewelry and party heels!
