Trends Spotted at the Paris Haute Couture Fall 2018 Shows
Where fashion and fantasy meets, the couture fashion shows did not disappoint with its wild flare for romance and drama served in opulent ball gowns and voluminous frocks. From the unusual pops of color to the modern way to dress up a ball gown, we’re wrapping up the haute couture season with a quick recap of the trends that were spotted on the runways this week.
1. Dressed Up Pants
Well-known couture designers like Galia Lahav and Elie Saab took a modern spin to a classic ball gown by wearing it over pants.
2. Sparkled Allure
Nothing screams glamour quite like a sparkly ensemble. Chanel went for a more muted metallic look while Givenchy amped up the shine in striking silver sequin details.
3. Full-On Tulle
What’s a couture show without an overflow of tulle on the runways? Giambattista Valli stayed true to his signature voluminous tulle ball gowns this season while Christian Dior went for a more ethereal and neutral look for a tulle gown.
4. Rainbow Drops
Striking pops of color dominated the couture runways this season. Alexandre Vauthier and Giambattista Valli did not shy away from bright hues of yellows and pink.
5. Power Pleats
Bursts of beautifully pleated gowns have also graced the runways this week. From Alexandre Vauthier’s fresh take on a bubble skirt to Givenchy’s all-white number. Power pleats are making a comeback and we’re all for it!
6. Fur and Feathers
When it comes to fur details, you either go big or go home. Armani Prive and Valentino definitely chose to go all-out and bring on the drama with their head-to-toe fur looks this season.
