When the Michelin Awards named<a href="http://guide.michelin.com/ph/en/metro-manila/marikina-city_2330004/restaurant/lola-helen" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> Lola Helen Panciteria among its MICHELIN Selected restaurants</a>, the owners had no idea it was coming. They hadn’t even traveled to the awarding ceremony. They found out the next day, still in Marikina.The day after the awards, the modest panciteria was swarmed. Regulars laughed, first-timers beamed with excitement. Servers called out, “Ubos na!” amid good-natured grumbling: “Kasalanan ni Michelin ito.” Still, everyone stayed, craning their necks for a glimpse inside. Fans whirred. Woks hissed. According to the MICHELIN Guide, &quot;with its moist, springy noodles and crispy pork… the aromatic bihon canton con litson deeply satisfies.&quot; Bon de Guzman, who manages the Lola Helen, is the son of Ruben and Pacita De Guzman, who opened the panciteria in the  mid-2000s.
