A jeepney wine tour is exactly what it sounds like—a roaming wine crawl where drinkers board a colorful jeepney, glasses in hand, and ride across the city from one restaurant to the next. On March 14, the Jeepney Wine Tour, the annual wine crawl organized by<a href="https://www.instagram.com/winedrop.life/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> Winedrop</a>, returns for another spirited afternoon in Makati.<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17728922323594.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Photo: Winedrop</div>The mechanics are simple. Guests spend the afternoon riding jeepneys from one restaurant to the next. At each stop, featured wines are poured generously while the kitchen sends out dishes designed to match the bottles. There are usually a few games, a few surprises, and lots of fun.The first Jeepney Wine Tour was organized in 2018 by AWC Philippines. The format caught on immediately as a tasting that roamed the city instead of staying in one room.This year, the tour takes a slightly more adventurous turn.The 2026 Jeepney Wine Tour kicks off at <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mymamou/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Mamou 5</a> in Greenbelt, where guests will taste wines from the Provençal estate <a href="https://www.instagram.com/chateauroubine/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Château Roubine</a>, joined by winemaker Léonard Riboud. From there, the jeepneys roll to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/oakandsmoke.ph/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Oak &amp; Smoke</a>, where a Southeast Asian–inspired menu meets the bold Spanish bottles of Demuerte Wines. In past Jeepney Wine Tours, pairings focused on European dishes, perhaps because ingredients like vinegar, chili, and shrimp paste can be tricky to match.
