Panaderya Toyo Is Back. And It's Ready To Rambol

<p>This morning, if you weren&#x27;t in Karrivin Plaza by 10 a.m., you were already too late.</p><p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DYG9FETkkXX/?img_index=1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Panaderya Toyo</strong></a>, the Makati bakeshop that helped define Manila&#x27;s artisan bread conversation when it opened in 2017 until it quietly closed during the pandemic, reopened its doors today. It came back evolved: leaner, more casual than before. The full-service bakery has given way to a takeaway window, and the menu has been tightened to the things that earned it a following in the first place: the<strong> potpot pandesal</strong>, the <strong>leche pan</strong>, the bicho in tsoko, saba, and keso, the savory <strong>kesong puti inipit and egg inipit</strong>. And coffee. It was not a launch event but a party.</p><p>Panaderya Toyo brought back its bestselling potpot pandesal, named for the bike horn on the neighborhood bread cart. It was always the heart of the menu: sourdough-leavened, fist-sized, with a breadcrumb crust and a faint tang that reminded you this was not the pandesal of your corner panaderia, nor was it trying to be.
