OLA by Siesta Alabang West Parade

<p>I&#x27;ve only known <strong>Horchata</strong> as one of the drink options when I dine at a Mexican restaurant. It&#x27;s the perfectly cold, sweet drink that refreshes your palate after a bowl of cheesy, beefy nachos or a spicy enchilada meal. That was until I tried <strong>Siesta</strong>, a brand devoted to making the drink extra special—one glass or bottle at a time. </p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1781335802782Siesta Horchata.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><p>Recently, Siesta opened its first cafe in the South called<a href="https://metro.style/food/2026/1/21/siesta-horchata-paola-huyong-siesta-bodega-now-open-in-bf-homes-1700" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong> Siesta Bodega</strong></a>, and we got the lowdown from the horchata queen herself, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/paohuyong" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Paola Huyong</strong></a>. What began as a personal favorite drink during the pandemic slowly grew into a full-blown business, even supplying their signature horchata to other cafes! And now, Siesta Horchata takes things to the next level when Paola collaborated with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/relynette/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Chef Relynette Tan </strong></a>to come up with<a href="https://www.instagram.com/olabysiesta/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> <strong>OLA by Siesta</strong></a><strong> in Alabang West Parade. </strong>This first-ever <strong>horchata bar</strong> offers a <strong>Horchata Tasting menu</strong> and more. </p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:700px;display:block" width="700"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1781335665924OLA by Siesta 2.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="700"/><span class="fr-inner">OLA by Siesta is at the 2/F of Alabang West Parade</span></span></span>We visited OLA on a late Sunday afternoon, so technically, it was already time for dinner. I asked the brand whether we should come in already having eaten dinner, but they instructed us to come hungry, as the Horchata Tasting Menu is quite filling. Not knowing what to expect, we arrived at the beautiful cafe situated on the 2nd floor of Alabang West Parade (right across Ipponyari), and just had to admire every little detail. </div><p>OLA looks like a pop-up cafe, but it&#x27;s not. It has its own roomy space that can accommodate about 12-15 people at a time, and it&#x27;s peppered with wooden furniture, exotic carpets, mid-century touches like the lamp on their counter, and beautiful plants. The mood is very cozy, and it seems like the perfect place to spend a quiet afternoon reading a book or catching up with a friend. </p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:700px;display:block" width="700"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1781336526421OLA by Siesta 3.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="700"/><span class="fr-inner">The mood is very cozy, and it seems like the perfect place to spend a quiet afternoon reading a book or catching up with a friend.</span></span></span></div><p>I giddily took my seat, read through the placemat slash Horchata Tasting guide, and went for it with an open mind (and palate!) There were six courses in total, and each one was supposed to give a unique take on horchata. They were as follows:</p><ul style="list-style-type:square"><li><strong>Horchata de Chufa</strong> - The original horchata from Valencia, made with tiger nuts</li><li><strong>Toasted </strong>- Filipino coffee in the olden times—toasted rice with vanilla bean mallow</li><li><strong>Siesta</strong> - The Mexican horchata and its traditional Spanish pairing, fartons</li><li><strong>Salt-Kissed</strong> - Creamy salted foam atop rich horchata with cocoa biscotti</li><li><strong>P&#x27;s Butterbeer</strong> - A whimsical take on horchata</li><li><strong>Fresa Affogato</strong> - A Valentine&#x27;s Day special: strawberry and coconut sorbetes with toasted horchata</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:700px;display:block" width="700"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1781337072095OLA by Siesta Horchata Tasting Menu.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="700"/><span class="fr-inner">Clockwise: Horchata de Chufa, Toasted, Siesta, Salt-Kissed, P&#x27;s Butterbeer, and Fresa Affogato</span></span></span>Before we knew it, around two hours had passed, because amid the chit-chat and the horchata courses, we were fully transported on a journey of tastes we hadn&#x27;t been familiar with before. The tasting menu will cost you Php 2,000, but we say it&#x27;s an experience you have to try at least once—especially if you&#x27;re looking for something new in the local cafe scene.</div><p>If a full tasting menu isn&#x27;t your cup of tea, the cafe also offers à la carte goods.
