Taste The Best Of Filipino Flavor

Recreate these signature cocktails from the BYS Fashion Week 2023!

BYS Fashion Week has always been about celebrating the creativity of the Filipino. With 2023’s theme – “The Filipino Palette: Same Same But Different” – this year’s event truly showcased that. Four days of shows mounted across breathtaking locations within the heart of Metro Manila promised an opulent display of craftsmanship from some of the biggest names in Filipino fashion, and BYS Philippines truly delivered.

A mix of BYS Fashion Week veterans and newcomers, the line-up featured: Ha.mu, Antonina, Rafa Worldwide, Randolf Clothing, Neric Beltran, Chris Nick, Vin Orias, Cheetah Rivera, and Vania Romoff. And providing direction in the area of beauty and makeup was the camp of Gerry Penaso. As they glided down the interactive terrains and specially constructed set pieces, wearing the personal journeys and artistic visions of the designers on their sleeves, the models captivated every last member of the audience.

More than a gala serving as both spectacle and symbol of the ever-changing and evolving tides of Filipino fashion, the event also brought together like-minded individuals and allowed new friendships to form. The in-between moments helped create a sense of community in a time when that feeling is more important than ever. And what better tool for helping us to break out of our shells than alcohol?

To help our guests really soak in the joy of creation radiating from the clothes, designers, and atmosphere, we tapped the expertise of a local distillery that specializes bottling the magic of home-grown ingredients, indigenous myths, and unique Filipino flavors.

Destileria Barako's signature Filipino-inspired cocktails

Destileria Barako – international award-winning distillery based in Malay, Aklan and official liquor sponsor for BYS Fashion Week 2023 – boasts a selection of craft spirits, each with their own flavor that is familiar but new to The Filipino Palette. Using ingredients gathered in partnership with local farmers and zero-waste processing, the brand truly embodies the inventiveness and imagination of the Filipino.

With their help, we crafted three special cocktails that capture the spirit of Fashion Week. And here’s how you can create them at home:
