It's Negroni Week! Here's Everything You Need To Know
Stay safe at home while you drink, donate and discover great new ways to enjoy this century-old cocktail
It’s that time of year when the world celebrates the Negroni, a cocktail that combines the irresistible flavors of gin, sweet vermouth, and herby Campari. Negroni Week falls on September 13 to 19, 2021 this year, and in these seven days, thousands of bartenders, venues and consumers will celebrate with this iconic drink over one shared charitable goal. And while you stay safely at home, it's still an exciting adventure to drink, donate and discover negroni in all its many variations. Here's what you need to know to join in the festivities.
What is Negroni Week?
Conceived in 2013 as a global event by Campari and Imbibe Magazine, Negroni Week takes the popular appreciation for this iconic cocktail and transforms it into an international charity initiative that puts the power of fundraising into the hands of bars, restaurants and retailers. Over the course of nine years, Negroni Week has raised over $3 million dollars in more than 70 countries for a variety of charitable causes.
This year, you’re invited to celebrate the return of the hospitality venues we’ve missed so much, while also giving back to important charitable causes. .
Leading the charge is Campari, which collaborated with seven of the world’s best bartenders to create Negroni Cocktail Twists, one for each day of the week. These passionate creators, Erik Lorincz (UK), Fabio La Pietra (Brazil), Giacomo Giannotti (Spain), Luke Whearty (Australia), Bannie Kang (Taiwan), Tiffanie Barriere (U.S) and Tommaso Cecca (Italy) will all be devising new and innovative negroni creations able to be replicated and experienced across the globe.
Served throughout the week, these unique Negroni twists will be on bar menus as well as being served up at number of unique events, including guest bartender sessions where some of the world’s best bartenders will meet and collaborate, sharing Campari's Red Passion inspirations and creations to delight consumers.
