The Peninsula Manila's Bar Takeover Series is closing on a high note with its last collaboration of the year, Hope x Sesame x The Bar happening this Friday, October 4, from 8 pm to 12 midnight. This time, the spotlight shifts to Latin-French bartender and visionary Bastien Ciocca of Guangzhou’s Hope & Sesame who’s set to shake up Manila’s cocktail scene with a fusion of cultures and flavors.
Known for his innovative approach and deep passion for mixology, Ciocca will be offering guests an extraordinary, multisensory journey through his world of drinks. Prepare to sip, savor, and be transported to new heights of cocktail artistry.
And as always, part of the fun will be snatching a quick convo with him about Asia's hot bar scene. He might even share his top travel recommendations for discovering his adopted hometown—the vibrant city of Guangzhou, China.
Hope & Sesame has been a consistent standout in Asia’s 50 Best Bars list for the past six years, and ranked No. 14 in the 2024 list. It has also been named the Best Bar in Mainland China.
Bastien is the final guest mixologist in The Peninsula Manila 2024 Bar Takeover Series. This 2024, Asian luminaries like Masahiko Endo of The Library in Hong Kong, Toru Ariyoshi and Keisuke Yamamoto of Kyoto’s Bee’s Knees, Fauzan Ramon and Fabri Duemillio of Jakarta’s top-rated Pantja, and Ryota Tokomitsu of Tokyo’s legendary The SG Club have collaborated with The Bar of The Peninsula Manila in a bid to introduce to the city the intricacies of Japan’s, Indonesia’s, and Hong Kong’s cocktail culture.
