The most iconic French dishes and wines await

Get ready to say “C’est délicieux” at the Goût de France is back this June.

Goût de France is a yearly celebration of French gastronomy introduced in 2015 by the French Ministery of Foreign Affairs in partnership with celebrated chef Alain Ducasse. This year, the Philippine festival includes a series of delicious events, including a weekend market, special menus at select restaurants and hotels, wine tasting, and classes on how to cook French classic dishes.

On June 1 and 2, the Goût de France Weekend Market will be held along the tree-lined Paseo de Roxas in Makati, with merchants selling iconic French street fare like   crêpes and pastries with wine, coffee and liqueurs. The street market is organized by the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia, Ayala Land, Inc., and Make It Makati.

On June 2, a French market on car-free Sunday Ayala Avenue will give runners and bikes a chance to taste a French breakfast of coffee and  croissants.

The Enderun Ecole Ducasse and Cordon Bleu will offer one-day special cooking class teaching the basic French specialties like boeuf bourguignon.

On June 13, a degustation of wines from Maison Bukana will be held at Edsa Shangri-La’s Marketplace Supermarket, coordinated by the French Chamber of Commerce. Actor Nadine Lustre will present the wines, with Maison Bukana co-owner Christophe Bariou.

Finally, starting June 1, some 20 French restaurants and hotels will join the festivities by offering a special French menu for the whole week, available until June 9.

Goût de France is one of the best ways to experience French cuisine. Grab your friends and join the delightful celebrations.
