LOOK: You Can Now Have Milo, Choc-Nut And Nutella-Filled Pandesals
Childhood favorites to give you the warm and happy feels
Remember getting out of bed for a breakfast of warm pandesal and hot Milo? On special mornings, perhaps a slather of Nutella on warm bread? Some childhood treats have the power to bring back the uncomplicated happiness of the good old days. Here’s an easy way to recapture the joyous moments of childhood — a serving of warm pandesal filled with our favorite childhood flavors. We recommend three.
Milo Buns
Breakfast and merienda were never complete without Milo, that powdered chocolate malt drink that was a great favorite of Pinoy severywhere. Imagine the unmistakable flavor of Milo transformed into a rich and gooey chocolate cream filling, generously stuffed into soft, freshly baked pandesal. The bread is topped with Milo powder and it’s cracked exterior is milk crusted. It’s enough to make your mouth water. The breads are made fresh daily by Cavite-based Buenos Diás Panaderia. Order a box of 12 for P375. They deliver to Manila via Lalamove. To order, visit @buenosdiaspanaderia on IG and fill out the order form.
Nutella Pandesal
San Juan-based Kennedy Kitchen had the brilliant idea of infusing pillowy-soft pandesal with oodles of Nutella. Available in three levels: Level 1 has 50% of the standard Nutella filling, Level 2 has 75% Nutella filling, and Level 3 is 100% stuffed with Nutella. No judgement here, but I’m Level 3 all the way! P240 for half a dozen, and P480 for a dozen. To order, send a DM to @kennedykitchenph on IG or text (0917) 871-3218
Choc-Nut Pandesal
Amarisse Sweets drew attention way back in 2018 by creating the Choc-Nut spread, a spoonable and highly addicting version of the ubiquitous local chocolate. Now, they’re upping the ante with the Choc-Nut Pandesal which is just such a brilliant concept that we are blown out of our minds. We absolutely need this.
