The Naked Foodie Picks 5 Special Restaurants To Treat Mom For Mother’s Day
With Mother’s Day right around the corner, it’s just about time to start making brunch or dinner reservations to create a memorable experience to thank the first most important woman in your life—your mom. There is no shortage of restaurants in Manila with ambiance conducive to intimate family celebrations and delectable dishes to complement a memorable family gathering. With that being said, let’s break down The Naked Foodie’s top picks for 2019 Mother’s Day restaurants:
Nobu Hotel, City of Dreams Manila,Aseana Avenue, Parañaque, (02) 691-2882
Nobu Restaurant is known as one of Manila’s finest upscale dining restaurants. With its unique take on Japanese cuisine and attention to detail when it comes to both service and food presentation, mom is sure to be impressed celebrating a Mother’s Day Brunch at Nobu Restaurant. With menu items like Fine de Claire Oyster, Norway Salmon with Goman Dressing, Blue Crab, lobster slipper, and Manila clams, this so-called “Nobu Style” brunch does not disappoint. To sweeten the deal this May 12, Nobu Manila is honoring mothers with indulgent complimentary chocolate petit fours when they partake of the lavish brunch buffet distinctly known for Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s renowned Japanese-Peruvian fusion artistry.
Alba Restaurante Español
Branches in Polaris Street, Bel-Air Makati, Tomas Morato Avenue Quezon City, Westgate Center Alabang, Two E-Com Center Pasay, alba.com.ph
One of my favorite Spanish restaurants, that always leaves me with a nostalgic feeling of warmth thanks to its home-style cooking and laid back ambiance, is Alba. With appetizers like Chorizo Meatballs, Tortilla Española, Chorizo Frito, and delicious warm rolls served with butter (and even better for sopping up the chorizo meatball sauce), it’s hard for me not to get stuffed on the pica-pica alone. Alba also has a mariachi band that takes requests and makes guests laugh and smile as they sing along to the cadence of the band’s jovial tunes. Dinner and entertainment— sounds like a winner to me!

If it’s spice you’re searching for this Mother’s Day, look no further then Azuthai, one of my personal newly frequented spots offering a fine dining experience and familiar Thai dishes that are nothing short of an explosion of authentic Thai flavors. Chef Watee from Bangkok brings over 10 years’ experience with her, including at fine dining restaurants and five-star hotels from Bangkok to Switzerland. The ambiance at Azuthai is one of the highlights, giving off laid back vibes and space that’s ideal for date nights and family gatherings alike.

Celebrity master chef Jereme Leung’s modern take on Chinese cuisine at China Blue is more than a memorable way to show mom how much you care. With popular Chinese barbecue dishes like mouthwatering Golden Roast Duck with Osmanthus and Rose Bean Sauce in Momo Wrapper, I’ve never left China Blue anything short of beyond satiated. The private dining rooms can accommodate 8 to 18 guests, so no matter how big or small your family is, China Blue has the perfect venue for your celebration. A word of advice: don’t dare leave without indulging in the house specialty Black Gold Egg Custard Buns which are worth every decadent calorie.
