The Negros Trade Fair Comes Back To Makati With Loads Of Visayan Goodies To Savor

Get your fill of chicken inasal, chorizo, piyaya, and lots of sweet treats from this sugar-producing island on September 25 to 29

Every September, the Glorietta 2 Activity Center is filled with the melodious lilt of the Ilonggo language being spoken everywhere. That’s due to the annual Negros Trade Fair which has been held in Manila every year since 1985. Organized by the Association of Negros Producers (ANP), the fair acts as a grand reunion of Negrenses based in Manila and those from the home province to gather and check out the exhibit of always interesting finds made in Negros.

This September 25 to 29, 2019, the Negrense community will descend once again on Glorietta for the 34th Negros Trade Fair. Thanks to ANP, small to medium scale businesses based in Negros are given the opportunity to showcase their products, giving them national exposure and bigger business opportunities. But this event isn’t just for the Negrenses. Manileños get to see for themselves the fine craftsmanship, sophisticated designs, and creativity of Negros-based producers, not to mention get to enjoy the many dishes and food products from Negros not always available in the metro.

With this year’s theme of “Timeless Traditions,” the Negros Trade Fair hopes to give fair goers a glimpse of Negros culture and lifestyle, and share its history and traditions. With 20-plus exhibitors offering a full range of food products—including the province’s famous sweets made with Negros-produced sugar—participants will have ample opportunity to see and taste what Negros has to offer. Here’s an advance look at what food items you can shop for at this year’s Negros Trade Fair:
