Binge-Watching Selena Gomez’s New Cooking Show Is The Most Fun We’ve Had All Week
This is the show we didn't know we needed
Like so many of us, Selena Gomez is into trying new things while in quarantine, but she’s certainly taking things up a notch. Selena is learning how to cook—with award-winning chefs to guide her. And the result is her new cooking show. You can watch the fun in Selena + Chef, her new ten-episode cooking show on HBO Max.
In each episode, Selena learns to cook remotely with the help of a pro. She gets schooled on how to cook an omelet, master a soufflé, even dissect an octopus. She falls in love with spicy miso ramen which, she says, will be a regular dish at home from now on.
Her teachers are some of the most respected names in the culinary world: Angelo Sosa, Antonia Lofaso, Candice Kumai, Daniel Holzman, Jon & Vinny, Ludo Lefebvre, Nancy Silverton, Nyesha Arrington, Roy Choi, and Tonya Holland.
The unscripted format makes this show more fun and even funny, which is just what we need righ tnow. “I was definitely getting down and a lot is going on. [This show] was an opportunity to make something that could make people smile,” Selena says. As an extra, here's Selena sharing a favorite family recipe for Cheesy Chicken Tortilla Chip Casserole which she makes with her grandmother.
Each episode highlights a food-related charity. “Having some of the best chefs open up their kitchens to me was a humbling and fun experience. I definitely discovered I have a lot more to learn," says Selena. "I’m also really happy that we were able to highlight and raise money for some incredible charitable organizations.”
Selena + Chef is such a hit that the show’s been renewed for its second season. Binge watch the first season on HBO Max now.
