Shake Shack Is Coming To Manila And We Now Know Where It’s Located!

If there is one restaurant opening Manila foodies are eagerly anticipating early next year, it has to be that of New York City institution and global burger brand, Shake Shack. And we just found out where the first-ever Shake Shack in the Philippines will be located—at Central Square on the corner of C1 Park and 5th Avenue in the heart of Bonifacio Global City.

Shake Shack has expanded around the world since it first opened in 2004 in New York City. Today, it has 190 locations in the United States, including 70 locations around the world. But guess what? Shake Shack Philippines will be the first ever in Southeast Asia. And by early next year, Filipinos will be lining up to order its Angus burgers, crinkle-cut fries, frozen custard, and griddle-top hotdogs, among other classic items.

What makes Shake Shack so different from other regular burger chains? Perhaps it is its commitment to thoughtful ingredient sourcing and emphasis on hospitality and fine dining-level quality. But it also could be because the food really tastes good, with burgers that use 100% all-natural Angus beef, and with chicken without any hormones or antibiotics used in its sandwiches. In the Philippines, Shake Shack plans to continue this commitment to quality, with plans to work with local purveyors, producers, and artists.

Speaking of artists, BGC habitués may soon spot two large murals being mounted in the Shake Shack space in Central Square. Created by local street artist Jappy Agoncillo, one mural will be placed on the store façade along 5th Avenue, while the other will be placed inside Central Square. These murals are inspired by the Manila city landscape with “real life monuments and buildings, each from some of the major cities that make up Metro Manila, as inspiration,” according to Agoncillo.

Even more visible while construction is ongoing is a larger-than-life installation featuring the iconic ShackBurger bag which will appear at different locations around BGC. If you happen to spot the installation, make sure to share the Shack love with #ShakeShackPH.
