12 Delicious Days of Christmas: Sangria

Whip up this festive sangria rich with juicy flavor, the spice of brandy, and a touch of cinnamon

The Yule season is the perfect time of year for this festive sangria, with its juicy fruitiness and touch of cinnamon. Keep it ice-cold by letting the pitcher sit on ice or in an ice bucket. Or else, freeze some of the sangria and use as the ice cubes themselves.

Christmas Sangria

Serves 6

1 bottle red wine

1/2 cup sugar syrup

1 lemon, half sliced, half juiced

2 navel oranges, 1 sliced, 1 juiced

1 apple, sliced

1/2 stick cinnamon

1/4 cup brandy

2 tablespoons Triple Sec

Mix all the ingredients together and chill overnight or at least 6 hours. Transfer sangria to a pitcher or carafe. Serve very cold but do not add ice cubes to the sangria so as not to dilute the flavors.
