Easy Chocolate Trifle

Make This Instant No-Bake Chocolate Dessert With Just Five Ingredients!

This is the ultimate dessert “cheat” with just five ingredients needed to make a 100% no-fuss 

chocolate treat. Just layer the ingredients in a trifle dish, chill, then serve! The only real “work” you have to do is to whip some heavy cream using a wire whisk or electric mixer. But if that’s too much of a hassle, then a canister of pressurized whipped cream will do the job just as well. 


There is no sugar in this recipe since the chocolate loaf, vanilla and chocolate puddings are already sweetened. So the best way to adjust the sweetness level is to lessen or add more of the pudding. Feel free to add other flavorings like dulce de leche, caramel sauce, hazelnut spread, or layer with slices of fresh strawberries or banana. And for a fancier look, you can top the trifle with nuts, colored candies, and mini marshmallows.



Easy Chocolate Trifle 

Serves 6


  • 1 store-bought chocolate loaf, cubed
  • store-bought vanilla pudding 
  • store-bought chocolate pudding 
  • 1 cup whipped cream, unsweetened
  • dark chocolate, coarsely crushed 
  • whipped cream, for topping


1. In a trifle glass, add a layer of chocolate loaf cubes. 

2. Top with a spoonful of vanilla pudding and chocolate pudding. Spread whipped cream. 

3. Sprinkle with crushed chocolate. Top with another layer of chocolate loaf cubes. 

4. Repeat with more whipped cream and crushed chocolate.

5. For the top layer, finish with more whipped cream. Sprinkle with crushed chocolate.
