These Kid-Friendly Smoothies Are As Instagrammable As They Are Good For You!

Come over here for a second and we'll tell you a secret—one of these smoothies c22ontains a generous serving of bok choi, and another is a blend of coconut and butterfly pea, a super pretty edible flower that lends its mesmerizing purple, indigo hue to any recipe its used in.

They're both incredibly healthy and all-natural, but you'll never have to worry about your kids wincing at the sound of ingesting "veggie and herb-infused" beverages because—wait for it—they're delicious!

The recipes are products of none other than Lorenzo's Sanctuary, an Laguna-based agricultural establishment founded by husband and wife team, Olive and Mar Medina.

Their farm, though straightforward at first glance, proves to be extra special—it was the result of two very personal experiences that have transformed them and their family. You see, Olive was once riddled with multiple health issues (obesity being one of her most pressing concerns) and her adolescent son, Lorenzo, is a special needs child with autism.

In the most challenging years of their path to healing, Olive and Mar sought treatment after treatment for physical ailments until they turned to nature and picked up an all-natural approach. Though unfamiliar with what it took to truly be healthy at first, they learned slowly and steadily. Step by step, they began replacing the damaging habits they had acquired over time and unlearned everything unhealthy in their lives.

The results were nothing short of amazing. It’s also evidence of how sustainable, healthy eating habits can make all the difference and, really, be the answer that so many families like them have long searched for.

Olive not only shed the pounds, but felt more invigorated, while her son Lorenzo also benefited from a balanced diet, as well as enjoyed growing and harvesting their produce. Mar was, of course, one happy dad and husband who could feel more at ease about his brood's well-being.

While there’s nothing esoteric about this change for Olive and Mar, they reveal that it’s actually quite simple. There are tons of ways of enjoying tasty, good-for-you recipes, if only more people knew how to prepare them properly and where to find them.

It's just as any dish or beverage might work; it's a must to find fresh, premium, and most importantly, chemical-free ingredients. They’re quite fortunate to enjoy farm-to-fork dining all day, every day thanks to the produce they have in their literal backyard. It's a huge plus to know how to combine them for optimal yumminess (veggies, fruits and herbs are not to be feared!).
