Got Your Jabs? Now Get The Perks For The Fully Vaxxed
150+ restaurants are offering rewards, freebies and prizes to vaccinated citizens as part of the Bakuna Benefits campaign. Here's how to avail.
So you’ve endured the long lines in this hot weather to get your coronavirus jabs. You’re now a fully-vaccinated citizen with the card to prove it. Congratulations! You’ve achieved some protection from the virus and you’re also eligible for Bakuna Benefits — a “rewards program” in the form of free food items, special discounts and promos for the fully vaccinated.
Bakuna Benefits is a national campaign to promote vaccination by providing information, encouragement and, yes, incentives for people to get their shots. Local restaurant group RestoPH, one of the major supporters of this campaign, galvanized its members to participate in the rewards program. There are currently over 150 restaurants offering generous incentives to people who can show that they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Every restaurant category is represented, from fast food joints to coffee shops to casual eateries, with each restaurant crafting its own incentives. For example, Cyma offers a 20% discount for guests who dine in. Mamou will give vaccinated dine in guests one free key lime pie for a single receipt purchase of P1,500, while Sweet Ecstasy will let you have one free order of The Cheeseburger for a minimum order of P1,500.
The Vikings Group launched a "We Eat As One" initiative that's similar to their popular birthday promo. A vaccinated diner gets to enjoy a free buffet at their all-you-can-eat restaurants (Vikings, Niu, Four Seasons, and Tong Yang) as long as they have three full-paying companions; and all they need to do is to present their vaccination cards and valid IDs. Vikings diners who have the same simple requirements may also avail of freebies in their non-buffet restaurants: Monga, Putien, Nords, Tong Yang Express, Panda Shabu Shabu, and Four Seasons Chinese Cuisine.
To avail of Bakuna Benefits, simply present your vaccination card to any of the 150 participating restaurants and claim the exclusive deal.
Bakuna Benefits is led by Ingat Angat, a national campaign initiated by the private sector to restart the economy. A "rewards program" for vaccination is not unique to the Philippines. In the U.S., Krispy Kreme has already given out 1.5 million free doughnuts to vaccinated individuals and will continue till the end of the year.
