Celebrate With The Best Of French Food And Wine On Bastille Day
11 top French restaurants in Manila and Cebu are showcasing special menus on July 14
Liberte, fraternite, gastronomy! Bastille Day on July 14 is the French national celebration of the fall of the Bastille, the official start of the French Revolution in 1789. On this day, some of the best French restaurants in Manila and Cebu are participating in À Table, Citoyen, a celebration of France’s National Day through special menus that showcase the best of French gastronomy.
À Table, Citoyen offers local foodies the chance to feast on some really superb French cuisines along with highly regarded French wines.
At Sagana Epicerie and Bistro, for example, a five course menu is on offer that includes (should you choose it) an amazing duck foie gras walnut salad, a warm cheese tart, and a classic gateau with sauce.
At L’Entrecote, Chef Martin Kaspar waxes on his philosophy of serving “feel good” food made from fresh ingredients, in a casual atmosphere. So he keeps his Bastille Day menu short and simple, focusing on the Steak-frites, a crowd favorite made with US Angus sirloin with herb butter sauce and homemade fries. Enjoy this with a glass of Bordeaux, capped with profiteroles au chocolate with vanilla ice cream.
And at Metronome, Chef MIko Calo’s menu reflects her disciplined, purposeful approach that guarantes the exquisite, balanced flavors and textures of her dishes, from amuse bouche to the dessert.
