The Chocolate Kiss Café Extends Last Day

New slots are open for final orders. Get the details.

Last week, The Chocolate Kiss Café announced that it was permanently closing operations this month. For 23 years, the restaurant had been a beloved space within the University of the Philippines Diliman community and would likely have gone on for many more years had the pandemic not struck.  The Kiss closed it's brick-and-mortar space in August 2020. Last June 7, they announced that they would be accepting the last orders of cakes and pastries only until June 22.

The Kiss is so beloved that the response was literally overwhelming. After a deluge of orders, they asked for a time out. Orders were put on hold, although they promised to resume as soon as possible.

"We are seriously overwhelmed, and honestly overbooked. Please allow us a few days to catch up on your messages, processing your orders, and planning our production for up to June 22. Slots will be reopened as soon as possible. We promise ✋ to keep you posted," read the post on Facebook, which ended with: "Thank you, thank you for all the love! 💕"

After a quiet few days, an announcement was made today that The Kiss has resumed accepting orders. And not only that, they've also extended their closure. Instead of June 22, the last day for pick ups will be on Sunday, June 27.

"We really wish to serve as many customers as possible before we close. In behalf of our team, thank you again for showering us with all your stories, kind messages and well-wishes in the past week. They have lifted us up during this bittersweet period," they posted on Facebook.

The Chocolate Kiss Café is accepting orders. The last day of pick up is Sunday, June 27. Order online via The Chocolate Kiss Café website, and check out @thechocolatekisscafe on Instagram.
