Cantonese restaurant Man Ho at Marriott Hotel Manila offers a Poon Choi, literally “Chinese casserole in a basin,” filled with abalone, fish maw, dried scallop, prawns, sea moss, cuttlefish, roasted duck, chicken, pork knuckle, and vegetables bathed in rich broth, priced at P18,880 nett good for 8 to 12 persons. Another communal dish to try is the Lohei or Yu-Sheng composed of raw fish, lemon and peppers, sesame oil, carrots, green and white radish strips, which are meant to be tossed while everyone stands up and pronounces good wishes for the new year.
