It’s the universal comfort food that we all indulge in from time to time, and depending on what you consider to be pizza, its origins date back to ancient times when Babylonians and Israelites ate flat bread. Most of us give tribute to Italy (hands down one of the best countries in the world for foodies) for the invention of the pizza pie, and no matter where in the world you go, it’s likely that somewhere you’ll find pizza. Manila has some legit havens for pizza lovers, and if you crave for pizza as much as I do, you’ve probably seen me at one of these places before.
Crosta Pizzeria

Yes, one of Manila’s best pizzas joints is found at a food park called The Social on Ebro in the heart of Poblacion. Try the Cheese Boat or, my personal favorite, Pork You. Whatever you order, your only regret will be not unbuttoning your pants and eating a second pizza. So, just do it.

I try to go here and eat salad. I really give it a valiant effort. But then, without fail, a waiter whisks by with a crispy, cheesy, perfect pizza and I throw down my fork and just say no to salad. I just say no. The Margherita Parma is my go-to pizza pie and I drown it in Tabasco sauce. Quattro Formaggio is also strongly recommended, but it may put you in a cheese-induced coma. I’m hesitant to share my secret weekend brunch place, but I feel it’s my moral obligation to tell you to put Farfalla on your meal plan ASAP. The Salcicoa Italiane is my favorite pizza, and while I’m feeling extra Italian, I order an Aperol Spritz to bring back fond memories of Venice. Order the Calzone as well. It’s one of the best I’ve ever had and it’s basically a pizza folded in half so it also deserves honorable mention.
Salvatore Cuomo & Bar

I love everything about this restaurant and the open kitchen gives you an intriguing show and adds to the culinary experience. The only problem with ordering the pizza, is that the pasta, lamb, steak, and sausage are so enticing, it usually takes me 20 minutes to finalize my order. Sorry friends! Make sure you order for sharing so you get a taste of everything.

While it’s not a pizza restaurant, the Cheeseburger Pizza at Filling Station Bar & Cafe gives me cravings late at night when I’m doing my Netflix and chill routine. Recently my husband ordered three of these pizzas when some friends came over for drinks after dinner because we wanted them to taste the cheesy goodness, and everyone loved it. I am not opposed to eating a 4th meal when it comes to cheeseburger pizza.

Oh, don’t be pretentious. I’m just documenting what everyone else secretly feels inside. S&R pizza is crazy delicious and it’s value for your money. It’s the perfect option for parties and one slice has the potential to fill you up! Going shopping at S&R without getting a slice of pizza is torture, and if I’m eating healthy, I strategically go shopping here only when I’m full.
