In the lead up to a time as busy as the Christmas season, we could all use one less thing to think about. While it is difficult to escape the inevitability of Christmas decorating and gift-shopping, we can certainly rely on the Manila food scene when the task of putting together a homemade Christmas Eve meal that tops last year’s proves too daunting. If you haven’t made Noche Buena plans just yet, here’s our list of some of the best special menus around the metro, curated just for the Christmas season:

Dreaming of Chinese food the night before Christmas? Wake up to this worry-free Christmas Family Lunch Dim Sum Set Menu for three or more (P1,988 nett per person), which includes an Assorted Dim Sum Basket, Wok Fried Angus Beef with Onion Leeks and Eringi Mushroom, and seven other hand-picked dishes. This six-course Christmas special (P2,100+ per person) is sure to satisfy your craving for modern Italian cuisine. It features their famous Cipolla Caramellata—or caramelized onion tart—and Cannellini Soup, followed by a light Truffle Cacio e Pepe pasta. Throughout December, a specially-curated eight-course Omakase (P5,400++ per person) awaits diners at Nobu, starting with Salmon Red Onion Shiso Salsa with Caviar and concluding with a Black Forest composed of Chocolate Macarons with Yuzu Cream and Black Cherry. Main courses include Sous Vide Baby Octopus with Anticucho Sauce and Roasted Baby Vegetables and Wagyu Beef Katsu with Cauliflower Panna Cotta and Apple Tonkatsu Sauce.



From December 22 to 27, diners can also enjoy an eight-course Christmas Special Omakase (P6,999++ per person), which includes Salmon Sashimi Salad with Matsuhisa Dressing and Sea Bass Yuzu Miso with Green Papaya “noodles,” and Braised Short Ribs with Cauliflower Puree and Onion Dust. Like any great Christmas menu, Chef Jessie Sincioco’s is constantly in the works, keeping her diners in suspense until she has added every last detail. However, she has revealed that she plans to keep dishes on the traditional side to remain true to the holiday spirit, from the salad (which she plans to serve in a Christmas wreath form) all the way to dessert.
