1. Nutella Brownies by The Flour Girl

Looking for an alternative to the usual chocolate brownies, or know someone who’s simply obsessed with Nutella? This bar by The Flour Girl is thick, chewy, and fudgy with a strong hazelnut flavor. (Tip: Make it extra indulgent by serving it with a jar of Nutella to use as topping!)

P65/pc, G/F CS606 D'ACE Plaza Brixton corner United Street, Brgy Kapitolyo, Pasig, (0916) 697 9452, www.theflourgirl.net

2. Berry Delight Strawberry Cheesecake by Cupcakes by Sonja

Cheesecake is always a crowd pleaser, and this one served in individual portions doesn’t scrimp on ingredients and quality. Each serving has a portion of cheesecake with heaps of puréed strawberries and is topped with sliced fresh strawberries and syrup, making each mouthful the perfect combination of tart and sweet.

3. Sticky Toffee Cupcake and Coconut Cupcake by Mom & Tina’s

Not many places serve these flavors, so these are novel additions to any party spread. The Sticky Toffee cupcake has rich caramel notes while the coconut cupcake has real bits of desiccated coconut in its frosting!

4. Cerveza Negra Brownies with Brownie Bitters by Brownie Bar

What’s a party without booze? Brownie Bar makes a line of local liquor-infused brownies (Don Papa Rum and Cerveza Negra, anyone?) that comes with “brownie bitters,” alcohol-infused mixtures that you can put on the brownie for a more intense chocolate liquor experience.

5. Holly Jolly Cupcakes by Cupcakes by Sonja

One of Cupcakes by Sonja’s seasonal flavors, this festive cupcake is sure to bring cheer to any spread. The cupcakes have a vanilla base with marshmallow frosting and sprinkles, and come in cute holiday colors.

6. Bailey’s Chocolate Cheesecake, Pink Moscato Strawberry, and Chocolate Hazelnut Cupcakes by Kringla

We vote Kringla’s cupcakes, with their beautiful and delicate toppings, the most Instagram-worthy. (And surprise, they taste as good as they look!) Kringla also does full-sized customized cakes for special occasions.

7. Naughty or Nice by CMV Txokolat

This luxurious treat is definitely for those on your “nice” list. Did you know that these chocolates by CMV Txokolat (formerly CMBV Confectionaries) are all handmade? And true to CMV’s roots, each piece has a unique, irresistible, and delicious flavor. The Naughty are charcoal vanilla and smoked matcha truffles, while the Nice are rum truffles infused with Sagada oranges, cinnamon, and cloves, for a “Philippine style eggnog.”

8. Queso de Bola, Ube Halaya, Ube Queso, and Tres Leches Cupcakes by Larcy’s Cupcakery Café

Larcy’s may be one of the obvious places to buy cupcakes, but that doesn’t mean they can’t surprise you with new and inventive flavors. We love the sweet-and-salty combo of the Queso de Bola Cupcake and how milky the Tres Leches Cupcake is! If you’re looking for a more Filipino-inspired dessert, don’t forget to try their line of ube-flavored cupcakes.

Prices vary, 178 Aguirre Street, BF Homes, Parañaque, (02) 478-2849, FB: LarcysPH

9. Milk Chocolate Adobo Bar and Dark Chocolate with Black Sesame, Cashew and Pili Bar by Theo and Philo

Would you eat chocolate with soy sauce as one of its ingredients? It’s certainly a unique combination, but we promise it works. On the other hand, the Dark Chocolate with Black Sesame, Cashew and Pili Nut may be a “safer” flavor but it’s no slouch. Both bars actually won accolades from this year’s International Chocolate Awards!

10. Frozen Black Hawk Brownie by Chocolate Chip Army

This dense and fudgy bar boasts a rich and deep chocolate flavor. Each bite is intensely fudgy, making it the perfect dessert for chocolate lovers in need of a quick fix. We give it plus points for being unfussy, too—it’s meant to be eaten straight from the fridge, no reheating required!

11. Chocolate Almond Buttercrunch by Pria’s Kitchen

We’re pretty sure this is the only dessert that comes with a small mallet! You’ll need it to break up the slab of almond praline and dark chocolate. It’s chocolatey, crunchy, a little messy, and just really fun! The slab comes in mini, regular, and ultra sizes.

Prices available upon request, (0917) 819-0545, FB: Pria’s Kitchen
