Inside Georgia Del Rosario’s Bright, Tropical Home
You enter Georgia del Rosario’s house and the first thing you notice is that it’s light, bright, and serene. This is the kind of vibe you get from a homemaker who has a personality like hers, a travel-loving writer and baker and a caring mom with a sweet and charming voice.
As Georgia opens her doors to Metro Channel’s Metro Moms, we get a glimpse of her predominantly white and tropical-styled home, and take home some nuggets of wisdom about motherhood.
The Memory Wall
The Memory Wall is Georgia’s favorite part of the house. It's a wall in the family room that she decorated with her favorite family photos, to constantly remind them of their most precious and memorable times together.
A lot of the photos on the wall were taken from their travels. Traveling is something she always makes time for, because she feels like she owes it to herself to pursue what she likes and inspire her kids to do the same.
“The most important lesson I’ve learned in my motherhood journey is to lead by example,” she says. “I have so many dreams for my children. And I look at myself—if I don’t live these dreams for myself, how am I going to pass it on to them?”
The living room is bathed in natural light, thanks to the big windows that give the space a warm glow. These windows also showcase the beautiful view outside, which easily whisks one's mind to wander to a tropical destination. This is where Georgia also spends most of her time relaxing, cozying up with a good book, and reading to her kids.
“My motherhood experience is quite different with each one… I realized that each child has a very different personality. So with each personality, the way you discipline is different, the individual time is different, the conversations are very different,” Georgia shares.
As a work-from-home mom, Georgia spends a lot of time in their bedroom, too, writing stories and uploading photos for her blog and social media accounts. When her youngest, Irina, takes a nap, that's when she typically gets to work.
After working and doing errands, she picks up her daughters from school. That's when she likes bonding with them and talking about how their day went.
The same way she makes a huge effort to spend time with her kids, she also never forgets to have some quality time with her husband. Georgia says, “I think it’s important to not forget to continue to date your spouse, and continue working on your relationship.”
Georgia admits that when she wants to relax, her walk-in closet is her go-to for some much-needed “me time.” And as it turns out, her four daughters love it as well.
“Having four girls is a lot of fun. What I like about the girls is they can help you a lot around the kitchen, they can help you when you get dressed, they like the makeup and all that. So there’s a lot of bonding moments that I can take advantage of,” Georgia shares.
As a baker and foodie, the kitchen is, as Georgia puts it, “where all the magic happens.” Just like the rest of the house, the kitchen is very clean and polished in white, contrasted by the wood-finished cabinets that give the space a homey feel.
When you're a mom, you need to be flexible when it comes to the food that you prepare for your kids. Georgia has learned to make snacks that are easy to put together and fun for her kids. Cookies and chips with salsa and guacamole dips are her family's favorites.
Weekend breakfasts are big in our house. But sometimes (when the kids are in school) the husband and I get down and dirty in the kitchen and prepare something simple, just for 2 - with a little helper of course. It’s our idea of R&R, to just have fun, enjoy our youngest, and enjoy each other before heading off to work. Many of our pantry staples are from @snr_official, helping us create a yummy start to our day - some favourites are the giant cartons of eggs as well as the wide selection of cheeses (check out my IG stories!)to make the perfect scramble.???? #LoveSNR #SNRdiscovertheworld #SNRuniquefinds
