The LA Times has reported that Julia Roberts just purchased an 8.3 Million-dollar Victorian Revival in Presidio Heights, San Francisco.

Originally designed by Architect Sylvain Schnaittacher, who is noted for his work at the Paige Motor Car Company Building, the Presidio Heights home was built between 1907 and 1908.  The 6,254 sq. ft. property has 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, one powder room.  Views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay are enjoyed in the kitchen, family room, the master bedroom and the second floor north bedroom.

Remodeled by John Wheatman, legendary San Francsico designer and author of A Good House is Never Done and Meditations on Design: Reinventing Your Home With Style and Simplicity, the home is teeming with white-on-white architectural trim and coffered ceilings.  Fireplaces make the family and living rooms cozy.  The chef’s kitchen is lavished with white marble countertops and backsplashes, as well as olive green lower cabinets.  The furniture and accessories take on a neutral palette, adding warmth to the crisp whites of the home’s interior architecture.

A landscaped patio, partially shingled roof tiles and wood-paneled wine cellar are some of the home’s assets.

The home was offered as a listing by Sotheby International Realty’s Caroline Kahn Werboff .

The Pretty Woman and Eat, Pray, Love star’s love affair with San Francisco is no secret.  She spent both her 50th and 52nd birthdays in The Bay City.
