Luxe For Less: Affordable Kitchen And Entertaining Essentials, Perfect For This Upcoming Holiday Season
As the season for reunion parties rolls around, it’s time to put your best dish forward. The former route, when it comes to convenience is to use disposable items such as plastic utensils or paper plates, but that does not give a good impression and is definitely not good for the environment. The challenge is whether you have enough china and cutlery to go around, especially if you are entertaining a big group.
The good news is that quality tableware need not break your budget. The Omega brand of drinkware, glassware, tableware, and kitchenware are mid-priced products from a Filipino company that has been trusted by families since 1958, when it introduced its vacuum flask to the market.

Gie de Leon, Omega Brand Marketing Manager, says that the designs are stylish, and made for modern homes. “Our latest collection, which will be launched in time for the Christmas season will feature pastels, which are so in right now, along with a line that is modern minimalist. These are perfect for those who want to refresh their tablescape look for the season. These will also make perfect gifts for couples who are getting married around the holidays, as their starter sets for their new homes.”

The brand will also extend some help to newlyweds and those who are adulting, with their new online series featuring the Omega Makeover Gang or OMG. These are short tutorials featuring actress Cai Cortez, travel vlogger Mica Palanca, and graphic artist and set designer CJ Francisco. Among the topics they will discuss, according to de Leon, are caring for cookware and setting the table for a fancy party.

For her part, Cai says that she often entertains at home. To head off any hassles, she says that she prefers to invite her closest friends. She says, “You have to remember that the reason why you are having a party is to enjoy and have a break from your regular life.”
Of course, she still makes an effort, especially when presenting her specialty dishes. “The food I serve are the ones I usually cook, but I make sure that I serve it in a nice way. Even though you may have the best lasagna, but you serve it in a cracked plastic container, it won’t look appetizing. Omega has this white baking dish that I really love, because it can go from oven to table and it comes with a pretty wire rack. This makes your dish instantly Instagrammable.”
Cai also enjoys serving her hot beverages in the colored Omega cups. “My friends are now mommies, and when they put down their coffee to check on their kids, they still know which one is theirs,” she smiles.
The Omega Makeover Gang’s pilot episode airs on Facebook this October. Check out the web tutorials along with the brand’s latest products, promos, and events on the Omega Houseware official Facebook page and on www.omegahouseware.com.
