A Dream Intimate Wedding! This Couple Tied the Knot at an Idyllic Hamlet in Iceland

For Reiny and <strong>Daniel Santos</strong>, who love traveling, it was a no-brainer to tie the knot in a place that summed up their passion and who they are as a couple. </p><p>&quot;We’ve always wanted to have a wedding that’s relaxed, rustic yet romantic, to be one with nature, nothing too structured—even the ceremony,&quot; added Reiny. Their wedding venue, <strong>Búðir</strong>, was Daniel&#x27;s choice. Amidst the stunning views in this hamlet stands <strong>Búðakirkja</strong>, a small wooden church built in 1848. &quot;He loved how the church was nestled in breathtaking landscapes and the simple yet unique design of the church,&quot; Reiny said, explaining why her husband fell in love with their venue. </p><p>&quot;We’ve always dreamed of tying the knot and celebrating with our loved ones in an idyllic place outside the city. Discovering a new country, catching the northern lights, and just being ready to be surprised by what the land of fire and ice had to offer seemed to be the perfect adventure and time for us to say our I dos,&quot; Reiny told <strong>Metro.Style</strong>.  </p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1752889716639batch_IMG_1566.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><div style="text-align:center"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1752889739600batch_IMG_1525.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><p style="text-align:left">Reiny and Daniel got engaged a year and a half ago, and the excited couple immediately gathered inspiration to form their ideal wedding. While they had a great time on their big day, with photos so dramatic they look cinematic, Reiny also shared that there are many steps to take to reach their dream destination wedding. It took them about seven months to prepare for their ceremony. </p><p>Their preparations, this bridechilla said, included: &quot;From learning how a foreigner or tourist can get married there to applying all the requirements, booking all the venues and suppliers, buying and packing all the items you need, and the legal processes you need to do in Iceland.&quot; Thankfully, they have supportive family and friends who have no qualms going along with their &quot;crazy ideas&quot;—that just made the whole process fun and fulfilling. </p><p>The process is tedious, costing them time, money, and effort, but the results? Daniel wore a gray button-down, a gray trench coat, and a pair of khaki pants. On the other hand, his bride wore a minimalist yet chic off-shoulder A-line dress with ruched detailing on the long sleeves. With the harsh temperature in Iceland, some of Reiny&#x27;s photos show her layering her bridal dress with a fuzzy shawl and an oversized jacket. </p><p>The dress I used in Iceland is not my dream dress,&quot; Reiny admitted. &quot;But I had to match my look with the location and weather. I opted for a dress that had a streamlined design, which would contrast with the rugged landscapes of Iceland. It had to have enough volume to move with the wind and allow me to wear my UNIQLO HEATTECH underneath. She thinks it&#x27;s the mere fact that they survived the snow, rain, and gusty winds during their wedding day. Letting nature do its wonderful thing and going with the flow, where the wind took them, ultimately gave them the best experience they could have ever imagined. Cold and rain-drenched, this ideal destination wedding may not have had what many would consider the ideal weather for a wedding. But, at the end of the day, it was about evoking and embracing emotions—creating genuine memories and <em></em>not overthinking how to<em> </em>perfect them.</p><p>&quot;When I walked down the aisle and faced the altar with my (then) soon-to-be-husband, it was as if everything around us was a blur. What will matter is that moment, so don’t forget that while you are in the process of preparing for everything.
