Last August 5, he held a fan event and attended a screening in the Philippines to promote the fantasy comedy film, starring<strong> Jamie Lee Curtis </strong>and<strong> Lindsay Lohan</strong>. And every time Manny Jacinto has milestones like this, his wife, <strong>Dianne Doan</strong>, is always by his side, supporting him. </p><div><script async="" src="//www.instagram.com/embed.js"></script></div><p>Dianne is not only an actress—she&#x27;s a dancer, too! And the latter actually played a part in Dianne and Manny&#x27;s meet-cute. In an interview for <em>Character Media</em>, she said that they met at a hip-hop dance class. She said, &quot;He and I were dancers, and we met in a hip-hop fundamentals training program called ‘Soldiers’ in Vancouver. Interestingly, Manny&#x27;s character in the fantasy comedy series <em><strong>The Good Place</strong></em>, Jason Mendoza, inspired him to pop the question. </p><p>“I was toying [with] when to pop the question for a long time,” he shared during a panel for Vulture Festival. “I looked at the Janet/Jason relationship, and there’s a sentence that Jason says to Chidi about relationships, and it hit me pretty hard. I thought it was a sign that I needed to do it, and a week later I popped the question.”</p><p>In another interview on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NmXCGo5HyM" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><em>The Kelly Clarkson Show</em></a>, he shared the lines that stood out to him: &quot;I remember a scene where I talked about... my character says, when something dope comes along, you gotta lock it down, or else if you&#x27;re stuck in your thoughts, you&#x27;ll miss your opportunity.&quot;<em></em></p><p>Based on their social media feeds, it seems the couple loves traveling. Where I first met her, where I first saw her, where we had our first date, and where we had our first dance class. I had these canvas things written down with a message saying why the places were important to us. At every location, I had her close her eyes, I’d hold up the canvas, and she would open her eyes.”</p><p>Reminds you of that famous scene from<em> Love Actually,</em> where Mark (Andrew Lincoln) declared his love for Juliet (Keira Knightly) using a boombox and some cue cards, right? He enlisted the help of his Filipino family to pull off his elaborate proposal. </p><p>He took her back to those special places and had her read a message on a canvas, and they went on to the next location, and so on and so forth. &quot;And then, in the last place,&quot; Manny shared with host Kelly Clarkson, &quot;I got down on one knee.&quot; And while he was on his knee, his family held the signs that said, &quot;Will you marry me?&quot;</p><div><em></em></div><p>In an interview with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tta_MfB3dd8" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><em>ABS-CBN Balitang America</em></a>, Manny further talked about that milestone in their relationship, saying, &quot;Actually, shoutout to my mom who helped me out with all these little canvas messages that I had to write out. She helped me out a lot. So, thanks, mom! In 2020, during the pandemic, they became fur parents when they adopted a dog they named Henrietta.
