Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/File </span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday confirmed that she received a summon order from the Office of Prosecutor in connection with the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) complaint against her.</p><p>“Ako man ay naka-receive din kanina ng summons sa Office of the Prosecutor sa finile ng National Bureau of Investigation na kaso laban sa akin,” the Vice President said in a chance interview in Leyte.</p><p>Duterte did not give further details. </p><p>The <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/2/12/nbi-recommends-sedition-grave-threat-raps-vs-sara-duterte-over-marcos-threats-1047">NBI earlier filed grave threats and inciting to sedition complaints</a> against the Vice President after she claimed that she contracted someone to assassinate President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, should a supposed kill plot against her succeed.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/2/8/house-members-dispute-vp-sara-s-denial-of-threatening-marcos-family-1249">House members dispute VP Sara&#x27;s denial of threatening Marcos, family</a></div><p>Duterte has said her remarks in late 2024 about the supposed plot had been taken out of context. Her supporters have also argued that if Duterte had uttered a threat, it was a &quot;conditional&quot; one and not actionable.</p><p>Meanwhile, the Vice President said she was no longer surprised that charges were also filed against former Palace spokesperson Harry Roque.</p><p>“Hindi na tayo nagugulat, ‘no, na merong case na finile kay dating spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque dahil isa talaga siya sa mga malakas ang boses at malakas ang loob na magsabi kung ano ang mali sa administrasyon ngayon,” she said.</p><p>The Department of Justice filed qualified human trafficking charges against Roque and several individuals for their alleged involvement in the Lucky South 99 and Whirlwind Corporation, two Philippine Offshore Gaming Corporations (POGO) which supposedly trafficked and exploited workers.</p><p>Last year, Roque fled overseas after the House of Representatives summoned him to a congressional investigation on illegal gambling operations in the country.</p><p>The former Palace spokesperson described the charges against him as political persecution and sought asylum in the Netherlands.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/4/29/roque-vows-to-fight-trafficking-charges-says-won-t-turn-fugitive-1615">Roque vows to fight trafficking charges, says won&#x27;t turn fugitive</a></div>
