Vice President Sara Duterte on Saturday said she has no expectations for her upcoming impeachment trial after learning about the newly elected senators.Duterte&#x27;s impeachment trial is tentatively scheduled to begin on July 30, under the 20th Congress.&quot;Wala akong expectations of acquittal or a verdict guilty basta sa akin lang, tinanggap ko na kung ano yung magiging verdict, guilty man yon or acquittal. I’m already at peace,&quot; Duterte said in a media interview in Davao City.She added that the public should wait for the trial to conclude before forming a verdict or counting votes from senators who will be part of the impeachment trial.&quot;Hindi ko alam kung paano boboto ang mga senators. If at all, there will be a trial, I think it is wrong to start counting votes now because they haven’t seen the evidence yet. They haven’t seen what the prosecutors have. They haven’t seen what our defense is,&quot; she said.&quot;So parang mali siguro na magbilangan ng boto ng walang trial. Pero ginagawa siya ng publiko. Basta sa akin, tanggap ko kung anong mangyayari, anong magiging ending ng impeachment,&quot; she added.The Vice President mentioned that her lawyers are fully engaged in preparations for the impeachment and that she wants the proceedings to happen because she wants a &quot;bloodbath.&quot;&quot;As lawyers, alam naman natin ang galawan ng mga abugado. Marami silang paraan sa batas as a legal recourse for their clients. Pero sinabihan ko na rin talaga sila, really, I truly want a trial because I want a bloodbath talaga,&quot; she said.Duterte was not surprised to learn that Akbayan party-list nominee Chel Diokno and ML Party-list nominee Leila De Lima will join the House prosecuting team against her.&quot;Well, understandable kay Leila de Lima and Chel Diokno. They have been very vocal anti-Duterte since birth. In fact, wala pa sa mapa si Dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte to become president ay anti-Duterte na talaga si Sec. De Lima,&quot; she said.In February, the House of Representatives impeached Duterte for &quot;high crimes,&quot; including an alleged assassination plot against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.Duterte said they would file a supplemental affidavit denying the criminal offenses of inciting sedition and grave threats stemming from her supposed kill threat against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.&quot;The lawyers manifested that they will submit a supplemental some sort of a petition or motion in the NBI. I cannot talk about what that supplemental documents will be, but I am sure you will know about it once it is filed in the NBI,&quot; she said.<div>THANKSGIVING MASS</div>The Vice President attended a thanksgiving mass on Saturday at the Carmelite Church in Davao City, celebrating the victory of five Dutertes and candidates from Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod in the 2025 Midterm Elections.She was accompanied by her brother, 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte, and her nephew, 1st District Councilor Rigo Duterte.Duterte said she had a 41-minute phone conversation with her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is being detained in The Hague, The Netherlands.&quot;When I updated him and started giving updates on who is for him and who is likely not for president Duterte, he didn’t have any reaction with the national results, but on the local results, he said, &#x27;Tagam!&#x27; (Karma!),&quot; she said.The vice president also commented on why many of the administration&#x27;s senatorial candidates did not win in the recent elections. &quot;It’s because of the president. The people find him wanting of his promises and the people expect more from the president particularly with regard to his work for our country. So they should not blame anyone else. Anything that has happened, it’s just the president,&quot; she said.Duterte indicated that her father&#x27;s lawyers are currently figuring out how the newly elected Davao City mayor will take the oath of office from The Netherlands.&quot;They are working on it. And I don’t think they have an answer right now, but I am sure they will give an update in the coming days, right before the noon of June 30,&quot; she said.When asked about her plans to run for office in the 2028 national elections, Duterte said she still has more than a year to decide.&quot;Sa 2028, gitagaan ko og (binigyan ako ng) deadline sa mga supporters, hangtud (hanggang) December of 2026. By December 2026, kung dili daw ko magdesisyon, they will look for other candidate for president in 2028. I have more than a year to really sit down and list down the pros and cons as I did in 2021 with regard to running for president,&quot; she said.
