Motorists and pedestrians are caught in a sudden downpour in Quezon City on June 6, 2025.  Weather bureau PAGASA issued a Yellow rainfall warning in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon on Friday afternoon.

Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/File"/>Motorists and pedestrians are caught in a sudden downpour in Quezon City on June 6, 2025.  Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/File</div>MANILA -- The combination of a potential storm and the southwest monsoon will bring rains all over Luzon and Visayas this week.According to ABS-CBN weather forecaster Ariel Rojas, the low pressure area east of Luzon will cross over to the West Philippine Sea and may develop into tropical cyclone Auring by Tuesday.It is expected to leave the PAR and intensify further over while moving towards southern China.This will enhance the southwest monsoon or Habagat throughout the week.The LPA will bring scattered rains over Central and Northern Luzon while monsoon rains will affect MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Bicol, Western Visayas, and Negros Monday to Wednesday.Western Luzon may still have significant rains on Thursday and Friday.By weekend most of Luzon will just be cloudy with some occasional rainsThe rest of Visayas, Sulu Archipelago, and Zamboanga Peninsula may also feel the peripheral effects of Habagat during the week while afternoon thunderstorms may be experienced in Visayas and Mindanao by weekend.Flooding and landslides are expected over the areas that have already received and may still experience considerable rainfall.Metro Manila will also experience monsoon rains and gusty conditions beginning Monday and waning by Friday. Saturday and Sunday may see sunny spells, cloudy intervals, and possible afternoon or evening thunderstorms.Another LPA may form from the trough of the potential Auring to the east of Southern Luzon by midweek and just dissipate by weekend.
